What does the research say?
This product has not been tested in a clinical trial.
The strains of bacteria in this product have not been identified on the ingredients. Therefore, we cannot know if they are probiotics and we cannot compare them against clinical trials.
Of the other ingredients, baobab has not been shown to have a prebiotic effect in human trials. One randomized controlled trial found that 18.5g of baobab improved glycaemic (blood sugar) response to a meal in healthy adults, but the concentration in this product is 0.35g. Slippery elm has no evidence of health benefits in human trials.
We reached out to The Naked Pharmacy but they did not disclose the strains of bacteria. As this product has not been studied clinically, and we do not know which strains it contains, we cannot support the claims.
