Some studies suggest that consuming oily fish, such as salmon, may help to reduce inflammatory markers within our bodies. The sesame oil and sesame seeds may also act as an anti-inflammatory, as well as providing antioxidants and potentially reducing LDL cholesterol which is thought to be the ‘bad’ cholesterol in our bodies.
Finally, broccoli is a nutrition powerhouse. This brassica contains a specific compound called sulforaphane which has been shown to neutralise toxic substances, reduce inflammation and prevent mutations within DNA occurring. Research into these potentially cancer-preventing properties has grown. However, further research is still needed to strengthen these health claims.
